Questions to think about  

Did you know that it takes about a 1 mile walk to burn off 100 Calories?

Did you know that excess calories that are not burned off will be stored in the body?  They are stored as fat.

 

Growing And Changing

Puberty - the time when a person develops traits of his or her gender

Adolescence - the stage of life between childhood and adulthood, usually beginning somewhere between the ages of 11 and 15.

Hormones - chemical substances produced by glands that help regulate the way your body functions. 

  • Pituitary Gland - located at the base of the brain.  It controls growth and development.

Testosterone - the amle hormone that is released by the glands to kick start puberty.

Estrogen - the female hormone is released by the glands to kick start puberty and menstruation.

Building Character

Self-Esteem is an important thing to examine in all people.  This is the way that you feel about yourself.  It is important to remember that you are unique and everything about you is YOU!  There will never be another you!  So, those things that you may not like about yourself...remember each of those is what makes you who you are!
