Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 stick margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon hot water
  • dash salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

 

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg, and then the vanilla.
  3. Dissolve the baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt.      
  4. Mix in flour
  5. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
  7. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.

 

 

 

 

 

Pizza Pinwheel Dippers

 

  • 3 Tbsp. Butter – melted
  • ½ tsp. garlic salt
  • ½ tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 can (13.8pz.) refrigerated pizza crust or bread dough
  • 1/2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
  • pepperoni  slices
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Pizza or Marinara sauce for dipping

 

PREHEAT oven to 400°F. Mix butter, Italian seasoning and garlic powder until well blended; set aside.

UNROLL dough into 15x10-inch rectangle; brush with half of the butter mixture.

Place cheese and pepperoni to within 1 inch of edges.  Roll up dough to form a log. Pinch seams and ends together to seal. Position in center of lightly greased baking sheet. Brush with remaining butter mixture.  Sprinkle lightly with parmesan cheese.

BAKE 15 min. or until lightly browned. Let stand 5 min. Cut crosswise into 12 slices. Serve with the marinara sauce.
