CLASSROOM RESOURCES iMovie- Quick PDF tutorial on using iMovie. Also have video tutorials on YouTube like this one here. Bloglines- An rss feed to bring information from many websites to you. You can create a free account, then add websites to have information from Blogs or news sites come right to you.
Voicethread- An online website where you can upload pictures, video or even a Word document to have students leave an audio or video comment about. They can also use the pen tool to draw on the picture. There is an education version at: http://ed.voicethread.com/ for $60 per class or for a whole school at $1 per student.
Delicious- An online social bookmarking site. Do you bookmark you favorite sites on your work computer? Why not store those online so that you can access them from ANY computer (home, in-laws, beach in Hawaii!?!?!). You can also add friends to check on and share bookmarks and use it as a search engine for educational websites or just see what are some good websites being saved right now.
Google Tools- There are many GoogleTools that you can use like GoogleDocs, GoogleImages, Blogger, Calendar, even things like Google Alerts where you can be e-mailed everytime a specific word or phrase is used online. For instance I get a daily e-mail anytime "Mark Carls" is used online. Glogster- Their motto is: "Poster Yourself". The ability to upload photos & videos and creatively create a 'poster' with interactive icons or creating links to other websites.
Slideshare- Do you use PowerPoints in class? Here's a good site to host your PowerPoint OR to find other PowerPoints. Here is one I found to embed:
Issuu- A way to embed your PowerPoint slides into a website and it will flip like a book.
How about Animation-ish? Since some teachers in the elementary will have this to make animated cartoon charts. Here's one I tried to do. Will probably need the software, though to open it. See below...well, once I figure it out, see below...
How about using Mixbook.com? Seems pretty neat. Can I embed?
