During this week, our 7th graders will be participating in this program which is committed to the prevention of teen pregnancy and covers the following topics:
Understanding Human Growth
This program is family oriented and stresses that the parents and other caring adults be the primary source of information. This program helps set up the lines of communication between parents and children.
8th Grade Parents Night: 7:00 pm in HS Auditor

Parents and their 8th grade students are invited to a discussion of high school courses and graduation requirements your child must meet in order to graduate. A questions and answer section will be held regarding these requirements with refreshments to follow.

New York State Assessment in English Language Arts (ELA) Tests
Grades 7 & 8
This test is administered in three sessions and includes both literary and informational passages that measure skills and knowledge in the English Language. This assessment also prepares your child for the New York State Regents exams that they will be required to successfully complete in high school in order to graduate.
New York State Assessment in Mathematics Grades 7 & 8
This test is administered in 2 sessions and includes both multiple choice questions and short/extended response questions measu
ring basic skills, concepts, procedures and problem solving strategies.
New York State Science Performance Test
This test is comprised of hands-on performance sections requiring students to use manipulative such as scales, microscopes and measuring devises.
New York State Science Written Test
This test is comprised of multiple choice questions and short/extended response questions.
