5th graders recently went on an Adventure to the Grape Discovery Center and Olde Chautauqua Farms. They learned about why grapes grow so well along the Lake Erie grape belt, how they are harvested, and even got to watch grapes get pressed into juice. Students also got to try a few different types of grapes, enjoy a grape treat and juice, as well as pick some concord grapes to take home with them! They finished their Adventure day with lunch and a quick hike at Luensman Overview Park.

Our Elementary students recently participated in a School Bus Safety poster contest. The theme was “Driving Safely into the Future”. There were so many creative and wonderful designs.
Congratulations to this year's winners!

Kindergarten went on an autumn Adventure to Allegany State Park last month! They went on a nature hike through the woods, played an I Spy game in the museum, hunted for salamanders, and went on the playground. After finishing at the park, the students stopped at Peaches & Cream where they got to pick their own pumpkin or gourd to take home and learned about different types of apples. When they got back to school, classrooms tasted the different apples and did some apple themed activities. The snapdragon apples were a favorite of many! It was a beautiful fall day spent outside, exploring nature!

Attention 8th grade families: Mark your calendars for an informational meeting regarding the Washington DC trip this spring. This is a very important meeting for all 8th grade students and a parent/guardian. Please see meeting details below.

Pre-K students recently connected what they have been learning during National Fire Prevention Week to an interactive and informational Adventure trip to the Chautauqua Safety Village. Students engaged in simulations that focused on preparing them for how to react calmly and quickly in case of a fire. They even got to see Mrs. Querrieo and Ms. Godfrey dress up as firefighters to help them understand that firefighters aren’t scary, but are there to help them. They also learned about parking lot and crosswalk safety which allowed students to get outside and practice these skills in the safety village.

Last week, the FFA held a Touch a Truck event that coincided with the PTA's Trunk or Treat. They had a wide variety of big trucks and heavy equipment at the event for the kids to sit in. It was a wonderful evening for everyone in attendance.

There will be a middle school dance for all 7th and 8th graders on Saturday, November 4 from 7-10 pm in the High School Aux gym. It is $10 per student. Sign ups are in the main office. Concessions will be available at the dance.
